CMS to Update Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Prospective Payments

On May 1, 2008, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a display copy of a Notice that updates the prospective payment rates for Medicare inpatient hospital services provided by inpatient psychiatric facilities (IPF).  The updated IPF prospective payment rates are effective for discharges occurring on or after July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. CMS is expected to publish the Notice in the Federal Register on May 7, 2008.
